The objectives of this meeting are to establish a forum and communications between colleagues and experts in Fetal Medicine, living East Mediterranean Region, to facilitate the dissemination of new knowledge and technologies, and ultimately to benefit the unborn babies and the general public in the region.

Oxidative Stress in Pregnancy, fetal hypoxia, Causes of Fetal Cerebral Palsy Other Than Intrauterine Hypoxia, preterm labor, preeclampsia, thrombofilias, sonographic diagnosis of fetal anomalies and high risk conditions, Medical, Social & Legal Aspects of prenatal diagnosis, cesarean section and termination of pregnancy are some of interesting topics of this forum.

Izmir described as an Aolian city by Heredotos is settled just on the border between Aiolis and Ionia. There were 12 Aiolian city based on the northern part of Aegean coast, and 12 Ionian city on the south of İzmir which were especially settled on peninsulas after the War of Troy. We can still see the ruins some of these Ionian cities such as Ephesus, Teos (Seferihisar), Erythrai (Çeşme), Klazomenia (Urla).

Çeşme is a little town, which is famous with the curative spring and thermal baths, at tip of peninsula that forms the Gulf of Izmir. We will be glad to treat you on the white beaches and azure waters of Çeşme with respect.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Izmir on November 9-10,2012.

Sincerely yours,

Prof. Dr. Namık Demir
